Before The Whistle: Liverpool v Fulham

Written by Drew Heatley on 1st December 2023

It’s a tough one this Sunday as the Whites travel to Anfield to face a Liverpool side that sits two points off the top of the Premier League, having lost just once all season. Add to that, Mohamed Salah is on 199 Liverpool goals. I think we can all see what might well be coming…

Joao Palhinha is expected to come back in following his suspension; the complexion of the three in the middle will be what everyone’s looking at. Will Reed return? Will Cairney feature? Will Pereira remain in the 10 or will Iwobi move there from the wing?

In defence, there’ll be calls from some quarters to mix things up a bit, despite Monday’s win against Wolves. Tim Ream was at fault for their penalty and looked off the pace. With Tosin returning to full fitness, Silva may well opt for a change.

Up top, if Marco was playing Willian into form, he may well have found that spark following his penalty brace. It’d be great if Wilson came in on the other wing – he deserves it after his recent cameos.

We’re not expected to get anything here. Wouldn’t it be great to bloody a big boy’s nose? Stranger things have happened. You Whites.
