Fulham 2-0 Blackburn - The look back
Fulham 2-0 Blackburn
There was a feeling of inevitability as the full-time whistle blew on Saturday. Our rise to the Premier League feels increasingly unpreventable, particularly as we purred past fellow promotion hopefuls Blackburn with little difficulty.
Blackburn were tough to break down, despite a strong start from the Whites. But that inevitability reared its head on 25 minutes as Neeskens Kebano gobbled up a ball spilled by Rovers keeper Kaminski to put us ahead.
That lead was doubled just 10 minutes later, as Harry Wilson hit a first-time strike past Kaminski, following a sublime ball out from the back from Tosin Adarabioyo.
Rovers had the ball in the net late on, thanks to substitute Sam Gallagher, but it was rightly ruled off-side. It left us with another three points - our ninth win in 11 games - and another clean sheet, as we edge closer to the promised land. Bournemouth falling to Preston only made that feeling of inescapability even more palpable.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Marco Silva: We were very good first half, a very good level, the way we created, the way we scored and commanded the game didn't give them chance to counter on us. We knew they would wait for our mistakes to make counters and they are dangerous at that. We did it really well, we controlled the game with quality football.
▪️ Tosin Adarabioyo: Clean sheet and an assist. 3 points closer to our goal!
▪️ Jack Kelly: Such an impressive performance against a Blackburn team who didn’t make it easy. Tosin’s assist was gorgeous, Mitro, Seri and Reed all absolutely fantastic. Williams was so close to the spectacular! A really good win, top of the league, COYW!
