Fulham 0-1 Spurs: The Lookback
Fulham 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Last night was a tough pill to swallow. Falling 1-0 to Spurs is nothing to be ashamed of - but it's hard to take when you should have taken a point. Look; we all acknowledge that the letter of the law was applied when disallowing our equaliser. But the fact that Lemina's hand was by his side and the ball was literally blasted at it from a yard away doesn't sit right. And Maja's subesquent goal was chalked off. Sanchez will be the most relieved player in SW6 last night.
Spurs won the game with a Tosin OG, after the defender tapped in a Dele Alli attempt. But while we might have been second best in the first half, we weren't worlds away across the 90 and were worthy of a point. But now the boys have to dust themselves down and look to Liverpool on Sunday.
We can't hide behind VAR decisions; we're where we are because of our performance across 27 games. But this writer firmly believes that, come 38 games, we'll not be in the bottom three. And our placing at that point is the only one that matters. You Whites.

UPDATE: Just before publishing this newsletter, IFAB confirmed that accidental handball leading to a team-mate who scores "will no longer be considered an offence" - we are speechless.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Scott Parker: We're trying to make the game so pure and so sterile and trying to control every single phase and every single moment to an absolute tee and that's where the problem lies. What we want to see as fans and spectators is goals, excitement, and I'm sorry to say that VAR is killing every bit of that.
▪️ Josh Maja: We have to keep believing, keep strong, and keep together. We performed well and we have to take the positives from the game.
▪️ Dom Betts: Watching Fulham play on TV is still awful. Good to know. Sooner we're back in grounds the better. Honestly hate it.

That one really hurt last night. A vital point snatched away from us via a daft handball rule that needs fixing fast. Fingers crossed the team can respond in the best way possible, with a result up at Anfield.
