QPR 0-2 Fulham - The look back
QPR 0-2 Fulham
Nothing tastes as sweet as a derby win. You’d expect one or two cavities, given the number we’ve enjoyed recently; but few have been as important as Saturday’s three points.
The day and headlines belonged to Mitrovic - again - as he notched up goals 36 and 37, one in each half.
His first came after just 14 minutes; he scored from close range, latching on to a Fabio Carvalho ball. Fab could’ve made it two minutes later, but he was denied by the crossbar.
Mitro’s - and the Whites’ - second was slightly more controversial. The referee blew for a handball in the box from Lee Wallace - though Mark Warburton and Hoops fans thought differently. It mattered little, as Mitro duly dispatched the spot kick.
Our 24th win of the season sees us eight points ahead of Bournemouth with eight games left. It’s getting closer.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️Marco Silva: We wanted to come here and win to show a reaction, we knew that they wanted the same. They come from four defeats in the last five games and they were like us, under pressure to win this football match, but I think from the first minute we showed that we were the best team on the pitch and we deserved the three points.
▪️Neeskens Kebano: Winning comeback with this 2-0 victory in the derby. Happy for our supporters, have a nice day everyone!
▪️Sammy James: Well, that was fun. Unbelievable atmosphere and of course, it happened again™. Feel like we had another gear in us if we wanted. Big performance from Reed and the defence to keep QPR at arms length.
