Fulham 1-0 Luton Town - The look back
It won't last long in the memory, but the boys ground it out and got the three points.
We said it was must-win, and win we did. We never said it had to be pretty.
The Whites overcame a stubborn and ultra-defensive Luton Town on the weekend to secure our second win of the season.
Marco’s substitutes changed the game after a dry first half with very little chances, as Alex Iwobi and Carlos Vinicius came on for Harrison Reed and Raul Jimenez respectively on the hour mark.
Just three minutes later our Brazilians combined to break the deadlock. Andreas pinged the ball out wide for Willian, who crossed into the box, where Luton ‘keeper Kaminski duly fumbled, allowing Vinicius to poke in from three yards.
That was enough to hold off a Luton side that’s yet to pick up a point in the league this term. Meanwhile, the Whites sit in the top half with seven points, despite not yet hitting our stride.
While that fact might cause some to be concerned, this writer takes it as a huge positive – to not play your best and still pick up points bodes well. Onwards. You Whites.
What they said
Marco Silva: The team that did more to win the game clearly was ourselves, the team that was in command of the game was ourselves. We deserved the points.
Andreas Pereira: The Brazil connection...
Cam Ramsey: Have to hand it to Luton. For a club plagued by uncertainty with no hope in hell, they’re unified on the pitch and while they’re yet to get off the mark, their resilience will soon pay off. Stubborn off the ball, could’ve even gone ahead themselves. Fought well, tough break.

It’s a London derby up next as we reunite once more with Sir Roy. Hopefully we put him to the sword once more.
