Fulham 0-1 West Ham United - The look back
Fulham fall meekly to West Ham at home, making it five straight losses in all competitions, with some tough fixtures coming up.
That wasn’t the best advert for the Premier League.
We lost - at home, to a West Ham side that’s battling relegation, and one that offered very little in the game. The problem was, we offered less.
We had 77% of the ball, but did nothing with it. We completed more than 49 crosses, but none were accurate enough or inventive enough to lay a glove on the Hammers.
The game was settled in the 23rd minute. It was the softest of goals as the ball deflected off Harrison Reed into the net. There was yet more chat of handballs in the build-up, but the truth is, we didn’t need the officials to help West Ham yesterday - we were doing more than enough ourselves.
The elusive 40-point mark continues to be just that. And our season, which looked so full of hope and promise on Mothering Sunday, looks in real danger of fizzling out by Easter. Life comes at you fast.
What they said
Marco Silva: Of course, they scored with an own goal that should be disallowed because it's a clear handball from Coufal in that moment, and it's difficult to understand, again, why the goal was not disallowed, and why VAR didn't check that moment.
Tosin Adarabioyo: Pleased to be back out at the Cottage. It could have gone either way today, but unfortunately it didn’t go ours. Extra motivation for the next clash!
Sammy James: Have to do better than that, safe or not. If we can't beat West Ham then I'm not sure who we can/will beat. We are so predictable going forward, I don't understand why we keep crossing from deep to nobody? Tosin and Leno were good today, one of the very few positives.

We travel next to a pretty unhappy hunting ground. Surely it can’t be six in a row… surely?
