Everton 1-3 Fulham - The look back
The rot stopped in emphatic style - and a title-winning face taking the headlines. Lovely.
And breathe.
We’ve done it – we’ve finally passed the symbolic 40-point mark. And in some style. Goodison Park is historically a barren wasteland for our travelling Whites, but the boys rallied yesterday to pick up three historic points – our second win there in as many trips.
Pre-match chat was about Marco’s front three. The boss opted for Dan James up top, supported by Willian and one Harry Wilson. It was bold, it was a plan B – and it worked.
It was Harrison Reed who put us one up, finishing coolly after Wilson rattled the post. But an Everton equaliser from Dwight McNeil saw the hosts in the ascendency at the break.
The second half became a different story after Wilson bagged his first Premier League goal of the season against the run of play. The Toffees crumbled, and Dan James notched up our third less that 20 minutes later.
A momentous weekend, then. Fulham reach 40 points in the joint-fastest ever time, and Fulhamish records its 500th episode. We hope you enjoy both milestones. Â
What they said
Marco Silva: Many, many positives to take from the game. We were clearly the best team on the pitch. We came from a bad run and, of course, we had to show the personality and character to turn things again. We changed some things, played with a different profile of striker and Daniel James played a very good game. The players deserve all the credit for the win.
Joao Palhinha: Great victory today lads! There are still eight games to make history.
Together. Thanks to our supporters.
Jack Collins: Lot of time for Dan James and Harry Wilson coming out and basically yelling ‘Yma o Hyd’ with their performances today. Still here, still important. Delighted for them both.

A chance to build on that with a game against 16th-placed Leeds next week. Can we get to 45 points?
