Everton 0-2 Fulham: The Lookback
Everton 0-2 Fulham
We were all waking up yesterday feeling like we'd been speared by Cupid's arrow, thanks to our new beau, Josh Maja. Our on-loan forward got both goals yesterday as we finally secured a league win at Goodison Park and, far more importantly, bagged our first three points since November.
It was no less than we deserved. We were fantastic from the first whistle, playing with a real intensity, and felt unlucky to go in level at the break. But it didn't take long for Maja to strike in the second; first, finishing off a lovely ball into the box from Aina, and second by gobbling up a rebound after Harrison Reed, who put in a MOTM shift, shot a rocket against the post.
Does this result kick-start our season? With our next three games being Burnley, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace, it would seem to be as good a time as any to try to put together a run. But the difference last night was we put away the chances that came to us - the piece of the jigsaw that's been missing. Let's push on from here.

WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Scott Parker: I constantly say to this team, you cannot keep creating the chances and that is a good marker to keep belief. We have been on the wrong side of fine margins but in and around the six-yard box we have sniffed out chances and got a big win.
▪️ Josh Maja: This is a night I've been dreaming about for a very long time. I had a feeling that this was coming and I'm glad it's become a reality.
▪️ Sammy James: How enjoyable was that? I knew eventually that something just HAD to click for us. You can't consistently perform like we have, and not get three points eventually. Break the Turf Moor curse too, and a Wilson-less Newcastle will be seriously concerned.

Feels great to get the win that we deserve, can we go break the Turf Moor curse on Wednesday? It would be a massive result if we could.
