Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Fulham - The look back
Despite flying high domestically and in Europe, those Brighton boys just can't get one over on the Whites.
It may not have been a smash-and-grab of all three points, but the point taken home from the AmEx by the boys in pink will more than do against a tough Brighton side.
After a first half where Fulham didn’t touch the Seagulls, who went ahead through Evan Ferguson, you’d be forgiven for thinking and avalanche of second-half Brighton goals were coming. But the Whites came out in the second half a different, more resolute side.
We scored through Joao Palhinha on 65 minutes. Brighton gave the ball away, and Wilson found our Portuguese enforcer, who rifled home outside the box.
We then didn’t let Brighton back in, with Leno saving well from Fati. It summed up Brighton’s wasteful afternoon, and we headed back with a solid point, giving us 12 from 10 - exactly the same as at this point last term.
The concerns, of course, remain around our ability to score. We’ve netted just nine times so far this season, less than a goal a game. That doesn’t look like it’s going to change - and that makes it hard to win football matches.
For now, though, it’s a point in a tough run of games. United next - well, for those who can afford it. You Whites.
What they said
Marco Silva: I think we had too much respect for them in the first half. We didn't decide well when to press, it was not a collective pressure and a lot of the time we arrived late. Second half was completely different. We were much more on the front foot, we pressed them higher and our reaction was really good.
Joao Palhinha: Very proud in this team, effort, commitment and faith until the end. Thank you very much to all the fans for your strength and support.
Sammy James: Great point. First 45 was woeful but fair play to Silva and the lads for changing it up. Got lucky with the Palhinha decision, but it was a deserved draw for the way we performed second half. The fact we are able to get points like that are why we should be safe.

This’ll be a tough one against an in-form Ipswich, but if they’re looking to get out of the Championship at the first attempt, might they ring the changes?
