Breaking through the Cherries high press is mandatory. Thus, the long ball with King or Muniz chasing it, can be an out. Or bringing in Cuenca and Diop beside Bassey and Anderson with Robinson & Castagne & Lukic as the midfield - leaving Samu/ESR/Wilson to attack. This is all predicated on Leno being extremely focussed.
At this time of the season, staying with the same old can be picked apart eg. Arsenal Arses
I wouldn't call it confidence, it's just that beating Bournemouth when we have one of the best home records in the league this season shouldn't be seen as some sort impossible barrier.
I must be in the minority thinking Europe would be dangerous for us. What happens every year in March would probably happen in January due to the extra games. The squad is not really going to get any bigger as to be fair to them, the Khans have pretty much maxed out with spending and the FFP regulations. Likelihood is Silva is off so a year or 2 of consolidation is probably necessary under a new manager to be stable in the Premiership. Not exciting but probably logical.
Ultimately, even though you're probably right I just don't really care if it's dangerous. Life is far too short to be worried about where we will finish in the league. Football is about making memories and the trips we'd get to go on will be just that. There's never a 'good time' to qualify.
I see a lot of fans saying they hope we don't get into Europe due to feelings that fulham will be embarrassed, or doesn't have a deep enough squad, I personally want to get into Europe and feel that our fans base backing our teams goal would be a positive.
European competition is the goal.

Wish I was as confident as you about beating Bournemouth. We need some of our first team back, and even then it will be tough. Fingers crossed. COYW.
