Liverpool 0-1 Fulham: The Lookback
Liverpool 0-1 Fulham
A lot of the time lately, being a Fulham fan in the Premier League is a tough gig. On days like yesterday, however, there's nothing quite like it.
We went to Anfield, and we did a job on the reigning Premier League champions. And what's more, we moved level on points with Brighton, and just one behind Newcastle.
A win was no less than we deserved; a comprehensive first half performance was rewarded, just before the break, by a superb goal from Mario Lemina, who should've had the police chasing him after he mugged Salah on the edge of the box and fired home. The second half saw Liverpool bring a bit more, but it just felt like it was our day - typified by Andersen's game-saving clearance at the death.
A momentous day, then, that caps a three-week period that has seen us go from 10 points adrift, to just goal difference. It gives us a platform to build on, with 33 points to play for. Enjoy this week. We go again Saturday night. Relive the win by listening to Sammy, Dom, AF, and Jack Kelly on our latest pod.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Scott Parker: In the first half I thought we were fantastic. We created numerous chances and we stuck to the plan in terms of how we wanted to cause them problems. We deserved this result and we have deserved better results over the last few weeks.
▪️ Mario Lemina: This one's for the Lemsfamily. My wife and children I love you all.
▪️ George Cooper: It's been coming! Knew we'd pull off a shock. It's been brewing for weeks and this is EXACTLY what we needed & deserve. Carra's meek silence was so so sweet.
