Leeds United 2-3 Fulham - The look back
Leeds United 2-3 Fulham
We might look back at that eight-day stretch as one of the most pivotal of this season. Seven points from three games, capped off with a hard-fought and impressive away win.
But you'd not have expected it in the first 15 minutes. Leeds started the brighter side, and took the lead on 20 minutes through Rodrigo.
But it only served to spark us into life. We were level six minutes later, after Mitro headed in an Andreas corner for his ninth of the season. His ninth Premier League goal in 11 games. Sorry critics, we'll not stop saying "we told you so", because you didn't stop peddling your "he can't do it in the Prem" nonsense.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid put us ahead with just 15 minutes left. It was a boost for BDR, who hadn't had the easiest afternoon at right-back (particularly in the first half), but showed his value with his attacking prowess.
10 minutes later Willian got his first for the club, finishing off a lovely move to see the game off - almost. Summerville pulled one back, but it was too little too late.
It's just a shame we have to wait until Saturday now for our next game.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️Marco Silva: Great, great win for us. It was well deserved from our players and we were the best team on the pitch. We know it’s tough to play at Elland Road, even more because they were doing everything to get three points again.
▪️Bobby De Cordovia-Reid: Proud of the mandem today!! Another 🌴 points. Blessings for the support as always!
▪️Rhys Daly: Aleksandar Mitrovic is averaging a goal every 103 minutes in the Premier League so far this season - which is only bettered by Erling Haaland. His nine goals from 11 fixtures mean he has scored 52 times across 57 games since Marco Silva arrived at FFC - prolific.
