Fulham 2-0 Leeds United - The look back
The Whites are through to their first FA Cup quarter-final in 13 years - and scored two worldies in the process.
Forget being one game from Wembley - we’re two games from our first FA Cup final since 1975. Even if we do have to topple a resurgent Manchester United at Old Trafford next.
And there aren’t many who’d bet against us at the moment. We navigated this tricky all-Premier League tie expertly, thanks to two incredible goals from two special summer signings.
The first was a 30-yarder from Joao Palhinha, who dispossessed Tyler Adams in the middle of the park and whipped a precise ball past Meslier.
The second came from - well, who else? Manor Solomon bagged his fourth goal in four games to continue a purple patch that we’ll be talking about for many years to come. The question is, though, will we be reminiscing through tears of what might have been? Only Tony Khan and the recruitment bigwigs can answer that one.
Leeds - backed by around 6,000 fans in a three-quarters full Craven Cottage thanks to misjudged £40 tickets - will feel slightly aggrieved. They had a goal from Georginio Rutter ruled out, as well as a more obvious one from Wilfried Gnonto, but we were good value for our win, and are now unbeaten in seven games in all competitions.
I’m not sure how many times we can say it, but what a team - and what a season. In the hat.
What they said
Marco Silva: It's great for us to go through to play in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2009-10. We know that our story as a club in the FA Cup is not great and we are here to try and change it.
Joao Palhinha: Congratulations to everyone for having managed to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup, we know how important it is for all of us to get far in this competition knowing how long the club hasn't reached a stage like this! Very happy for the victory for the passage and for the goal with special dedication.
Jack Kelly: Fulham into the FA Cup Quarter-Finals for the first time since 2009/10, after two stunners from Palhinha and Solomon! Another impressive clean sheet, and what a season this is for us! Loving every second! Special stuff!

Up next: Brentford (A) on Monday
It’s the small, tiny, little matter of the Bees next. Can we add Brentford to our collection of Premier League doubles?
