Fulham 1-0 Sheffield United: The Lookback
Fulham 1-0 Sheffield United
What a week it has been for Fulham; 7 points from 9, two clean sheets and three points behind Newcastle United. The SW6 Super Eagles stuck the knife in to Chris Wilder's Blades and took a huge step closer to Premier League safety with a win at Craven Cottage. Whether you are a glass half-full or half-empty supporter, the underlying feeling is that survival is definitely within reach.
The opening half was a cagey affair as Fulham tried to impose themselves on a Sheffield United side who were happy to sit back in two banks of four. Prodding and probing, Fulham couldn't go in to the break with a goal despite a barrage of corners and long-range efforts from Anguissa, Lookman and Reed. After half-time a quick interchange of passes on the edge of the box saw RLC break through and have a shot cleared off the line.
As the game opened up, Joachim Andersen's wonderful cross-field clipped pass fell at the feet of Ademola Lookman, whose peristence in running through the opposing defender lead to the ball sitting up before being lashed through Ramsdale's legs. A real moment of quality to seperate the sides. After a nail-biting last 10 minutes and SEVEN(!?) minutes of injury time, 3 points were in the bag.
The win leaves us 3 points behind Newcastle who were beaten at Old Trafford by Marcus Rashford OBE. Next up is Uncle Woy and his very own Eagles, let's hope our Super Eagles can roll them over.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Scott Parker: This group of players are honest, want to learn, want to get better, understand the challenges of this league, what it brings sometimes and what you need in these moments. This team has constant belief, they’re a confident team and that’s the way we need to continue
▪️ Harrison Reed: 3 let's go. Big win and a great week for us! There's more to come from this team. Rest up and on to the next one fulhamfc
▪️ Tosin Adarabioyo: It’s one of the turning points to our season. There’s been a few, we’ve been on a good run of form with two wins and two draws. We’ve found some identity and confidence so this could be one turning point, but I think we’ve had one already. Hopefully we can continue to chip away.

Seven points in three games certainly makes the table look much prettier. If we can nick something at Palace we'll be in a great position before a tough run of fixtures.
