Good article. I'm not that bothered about the signings or his comments about RM, I think he was just on the defensive and standing up for himself, I don't read too much into those in isolation.
BUT the collective evidence gives very little positivity to hook onto. Remember, the scoreline against Chelsea actually flattered us, we should have lost by 2 or 3 goals at least, and Chelsea weren't even that good. Also the inmprovements in selection and tactics for the Liverpool game were just the blindingly obvious ones that all us armchair fans could see were needed from a mile away - there was no coaching acumen on display there, it was paint by nunbers stuff. There is also no solid managerial experience we can point too that suggests he can do it - the appointment was a total punt. Neither has he made any clear efforts to build rapport with the players, club or fans, there's no evidenve of togetherness and fight in the absence of coherent tactics. He's not even doing the basics I'm afraid.
He has to go, I'm willing to take the risk because there is no evidence this will get any better because of something AA does.
I’m not an Areola fan but only one mid season managerial change has been successful for us- Hodgson. And then maybe only because he was able to sign Hangerland? Does anyone know how many points Iraola or Glasner achieved in their first 10 PL games?
You paint a picture that the players are enjoying working under Arbeloa or actually improving. We all noticed on Saturday that even though the score was 0-0 the majority of players came out from the half time team talk with their heads bowed looking deflated. It was clear to see. Hardly vindication of players happy with their management team. Garcia may run around a lot and get his shots away but he looks very average to me. Almost like we'd taken a punt on a player who looked good in the championship and has a good engine. I will be suprised if Garcia and the other Madrid recruits will still be playing in the UK in a couple of years time. Personally I think the damage was done with Arbeloa's appointment and that falls 100% at the door of the Khans. It's going to be tough to stay up with or without Arbeloa now and I prefer to make a change as Arbeloa is not even getting the basics right.
An article l totally agree with. We could be lying 8th, if Bobb had scored these discussions would not be so fierce. Those looking at Frank, Dyche as a quick fix are deluded. A sulking ESR is not helping the situation
non sensical article... It is the Premier League.. there is no such thing as time to learn or learning on the job,...I was an AA fan but it is blindingly obvious he is not anywhere near ready as a PL manager, and what makes it worse he does not wish to recognise that. We will draw with Hull at best and maybe draw at Coventry. Then it is too late in my view.
100% agree with this sentiment and just put an overly long post on the Telegram channel arguing the similar sentiments. We fans can be super fickle and the 'hot take' mentality starts to dominate the discourse.
I do think there's time in this instance though. We're far from cut adrift. And there's plenty of the season left to play. A big shift like this will always take time no matter the club. Now is the time to hold our nerve. There may come a time to cut ties - but I'm not sure it's quite yet.

Thank you for the article, a needed contribution in this febrile environment.
I don't agree with all of it, but definitely thoughts to consider.

doomed from the start. a terrible appointment
You are right but only because we signed players tailored to Arbeloa's system and we cannot splash the cash to rebuild the squad in January

It's not a hot take, it's rational judgement based on a body of eveidence going back to the minute he walked through the door.
there is no place for sentiment in the PL
I take it you will be off then if AA stays?
season ticket holder for 20 years so no ... as I said I was a fan for the project but I don't see it working out
Understood. I'm pretty much the same and will still support the team.
The key premise of the article is he needs time... there is no time in the PL. That is why the argument is flawed.
