The last 20 mins were tough viewing and something we could have avoided if we'd put away any of the 3 or 4 clear goal chances we had. Nice to see the Palinha appreciation of the Cottage crowd at the end too. 🤍🖤
There are few, if any, teams that move the ball so effectively with fluidity as well as Fulham on attack. Truly beautiful to watch!
Heartbreaking to see Palhinha, a silky-smooth presence in the Fulham midfield, wasted at Tottenham. He's missed, but I fear the experience at Bayern and now Tots have rendered his confidence to dust.
A 2-1 lead going into added time is not good for a Fulham fan's heart. Marking on set plays has to improve. They're so vulnerable on corners. Very lucky today, in that respect.
Igor Tudor's post-game whining was absurd and embarrassing, crying that Jimenez cheats and the refs were unfair, wah, wah: "I didn’t like the referee today, it was too much home refereeing. I didn’t feel well with all the game, all the decisions were on [their] side, but especially the goal, for me, is madness. He doesn’t understand the football, he doesn’t have feeling what is wrong and what is right.” They're in deep trouble if he carries on like that in the locker room and training.
I reckon Palhinha will pull through. Plenty of good players have had a poor experience at massive clubs like Bayern, and Tottenham have a dozen internationals struggling to form a team together in their side right now. Doesn't help that the team have had essentially a permanently-injured backline for years now, making it hard to muster form up in midfield...
Fulham never make it easy, do they? Only scoring a few of our eminently scorable chances is a tale as old as time for us. But it says a lot that quite a few times this season we've successfully defended a narrow lead. Suggests the mental strength - and footballing competence - has grown quite a bit under Silva, and these players can be very good when they put their minds to it.
Tudor's post-match moans sound like so many managers these days... it's as though they think to appear "tough" or "a leader" or whatever they have to never admit mistakes or fault. Referees are an easy target too, because they can't respond back (on or off the pitch)...
