Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham: The Lookback
Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham
In any other situation, a draw away from home against a Roy Hodgson Crystal Palace side would be considered a good - if not great - point. Saturday's draw can certainly still be seen as a point closer to clawing our way out of the bottom three, but we can all agree that three of them would've been a lot more helpful. But look at the positives: we're still within three points of Newcastle, and we've gained ground on Brighton.
It was far from a classic at Selhurst Park. A painful first 45 minutes saw the MOTD studio start chatting about Line of Duty at half time. Things livened up in the second, with a couple of chances falling to Josh Maja, and the introduction of Antonee Robinson and, more notably, Cavaleiro, livening things up. Things tailed off somewhat when Anguissa made way for Mitro, and the game petered out into a goalless draw.
We now embark on a tough March, with Spurs, Liverpool and City next. We know we can take at least a point off two of these sides, so stay in touch by the time we face Leeds in three weeks time, and we can take things from there. Listen to Sammy, Guy Barlow, Joe Samson and debutant Colm O'Donnell relive the weekend's action in our latest pod.
WHAT THEY SAID
▪️ Scott Parker: In the first half we didn't really assert ourselves and lacked a threat. We changed that at half-time. Positionally we changed it in attack a little bit. We cut through the lines and put people in positions in the second half. Of course we wanted three points, but we got one.
▪️ Tosin Adarabioyo: We gave it our all today. Happy with another clean sheet but disappointed not to leave with a win.
▪️ Sammy James: Had to win that today, and I fear that we'll look back at the end of the season and rue that we didn't get all 3 points. I still think we are staying up, but it's so frustrating watching us dominate so often, yet fail to win.

Not the result we wanted, but we are still only 3 points off both Newcastle and Brighton. We may need to spring a surprise or two in the next few games to stay in touch, but even if we don't, there's still every chance we can make it. UTF.
