Before The Whistle: Fulham v Nottingham Forest

Written by Drew Heatley on 6th December 2023

This one feels big.

Nottingham Forest visit the Cottage tonight under the lights. A win would put five points between us. A loss would see them leapfrog us. And despite defeat at Anfield on Sunday, confidence will be high after our performance.

Silva’s front three against Liverpool will likely all keep their places. Wilson, of course, bagged a goal, Iwobi looked more comfortable on the left, and Raul put in his best performance in a white shirt.

Many of us expect Tom Cairney to be handed a start against his boyhood club; our captain followed up his man-of-the-match performance against Wolves with an assist off the bench on the weekend. And given we’ll expect a decent amount of the ball, his creativity could prove vital.

Kenny Tete marked his return to the starting XI with a goal, and while we’re all happy to see him back, Marco may choose to manage his minutes and give Castagne another go. In the centre of defence, Tosin will continue to push to start, though Silva looks unlikely to sacrifice either Tim Ream or Calvin Bassey at this time.

A huge game, a busy run – is it a season defining month? It certainly feels like it. You Whites.
