Before The Whistle: Fulham v Crystal Palace

Written by Drew Heatley on 19th May 2023

Saturday is a celebration.

Win, lose, or draw – we should be in jubilant mood as we take in our last home game of a magnificent campaign.

Both ourselves and Sir Roy-led Palace are safe for another season – and both are eyeing our record points totals in the Premier League. A win will do it for us, while Palace must get maximum points from their final two games to equal theirs.

Everyone is debating who’ll start up top for the Whites: Mitro or Vini? It’s an excellent conversation to be having; it might have been a slow start, but Carlos has finally found his feet in the starting XI – not least because our wingers have found his.

Bringing Mitro on after an hour to rapturous applause is probably the way to go if you’re Marco Silva. But, of course, we’re not – so it’s a case of wait and see.

This is a game that’s likely to see all five substitutions used, as the Whites bid farewell to the Cottage for a few months.

This season has been a joy – let’s see it off in style. You Whites.
