Is he considered a like-for-like Lukic replacement? I recognize Fulham’s midfield needed an overhaul, but I think there are more pressing issues. I would like someone who has proven he can score goals in the PL, but that doesn’t seem to be a priority for Fulham despite losing last season’s top two scorers. I guess goals are overrated.
Who would that be though? And who would we get for under £70m? The one person would have been welbeck but we wouldn’t have been offering the wages he was demanding. Still need to strengthen other areas and also fit within the new financial frameworks.
This does feel a bit like the Seri - Anguissa season in terms of lack of a real plan or identity. Lot's of 'promise' (Charles, Garcia, Palacios, Kevin, Bobb, King - Arbeloa!!!), but very little proven anything, especially goals! I'd be suprised if that lot get more than 15 goals between them, and that smells of relegation scrap. I'm really worried, we are putting a disporpotionate amount of PL survival hopes on 'promise' and scratchy stats from lower standard competitions / bit part roles.

Sure we didn't get the goals we wanted or expected from the former but defensively I was comfortable. Let's hope in the rush for goals we don't get cut up down back.
But we need a strong, experienced and charismatic leader. We don't have anyone like that. Otherwise it risks all this promising young talent going to waste / melting under pressure.
