Careful what we wish for. Let’s hope he stays and continues to build and renew the squad to keep the team in the Premier League. This year shows you can’t keep relying on promoted teams being the favourites for relegation.

What about three domestic cup quarter finals and one semi final?

A win at Stamford Bridge plus two more at home

I know it’s hard not to be a fickle football fan but we really do have to remember this is much much better than our ‘norm’ and cannot be taken for granted.

As with most premier league teams we’re one wrong appointment away from relegation

All marriages have their lifespan. After 5 years Marco’s stock is as high as it will ever be (as is Wilson’s). Why would they not look elsewhere? I’m not worried about them, I am worried about our lack of succession planning. Who is our assistant manager and are they a potential replacement should Marco go (cf Andrews at Brentford). We are miles away from that.

hilarious i love it!

We must understand that the team and Marco can not be perfect and so we must be optimistic fulham fans not haters. For a interesting topic read How to respond after our 1-0 defeat. here is a link

Three years of midtable safety may also indicate an unintended tethering to such outcomes as comfortable versus the angst of relegation anxieties.

Still, I believe the risk of learning & executing a newer managerial style (eg. Amorim/Carrick) is not only forward looking but more exhilarating than accepting complacency.

I'm cautious about being overly critical of Silva, even when his approach and execution too often drive me over the edge, but Fulham's progress since the days of the Maggot and, I hate to say, Parker stand in tall favor of Silva's stewardship. Take a deeper look at the coaching staff and that's where you might find the need for change. Too tied at the hip with Marco (Everton and Sporting) leading to a groupthink approach, a "unified" program along a singular thought line. The approach to games is too often lacking and, during matches, the glaring deficiencies in set plays on both ends point to the staff. Where's defensive discipline and confidence? Where are the rising academy players? All not solely on Silva. A staff shake-up could benefit Silva and the players, unless Marco doesn't play well with "others."

OK George, it’s funny, but ……

team spirit! You must be joking. Team spirit isn’t having a laugh on whichever Social Media Disgrace (copyright the Guardian) is flavor of the moment, it’s digging in when things are going badly and turning them around. And that is something Fulham haven’t had since Palhinha left: when things start going against us we fold. Marco is directly responsible for that: first, it’s his job to foster the right spirit in the dressing room; second his passivity in terms of substitutions when things are going badly sends messages to the players; and thirdly his touchline behaviour does the same - either sulks if he thinks the players are to blame or strops if he thinks it is the officials. But it is never his fault.

His team selection and substitutions, or lack of them, on Sunday showed arrogance and disrespect - and I don’t mean to Southampton, although it did - I mean to Fulham, the club the supporters and the players (bringing on Jimenez in stoppage time was the ultimate insult). His refusal to accept real responsibility afterwards was appalling. He should have been sacked on Monday morning to restore the dignity of the club.

I have been a supporter for over 60 years and I have never been so angry (about on field issues, let’s leave Ernie Clay out of this!).

Why is MS not signing a new contract I wonder? Has he signed a pre-deal with a Big Six club? Seems disrespectful not to announce if he’s staying or leaving at end of season
