West Ham United 0-2 Fulham - the look back
It's back to winning ways for the Whites - and on the road, no less - as Andreas bags twice without reply against the Hammers.
This season has been about finding joy in the little things.
Bagging our first win away at West Ham in more than 20 years is definitely one of those. And - as with the majority of our wins this term, it was rarely in doubt, as the Whites put on another professional performance to dismantle a side that is pushing for a top six finish.
The hero of the day was Andreas Pereira, who’s determined to silence his remaining doubters, ever since he got his call-up to the Brazil national side. He bagged two on Sunday, the first of which coming within the first 10 minutes. Konstantinos Mavropanos had an absolute nightmare, slicing the ball into Andreas’s path, who then rounded him and Lukas Fabianski to slot home.
He capped his performance with a second with just 20 minutes of normal time to go, slotting home from close range after a pinpoint ball from Alex Iwobi, who linked up well with the Brazilian .
It’s our first double against West Ham since they single-handedly lifted the World Cup in 1966 - and they didn’t lay a glove on us in either game. We now have two chances to determine the destination of the 2023/24 Premier League trophy. Who says mid-table’s boring? You Whites.
What they said
Marco Silva: It was a great win. We knew what we missed in some moments and gave feedback to the players. Well deserved, we played really good football, some very good moments, fantastic transitions and we were the team that deserved to win.
Tosin Adarabioyo: Back to winning ways. On a roll against London clubs. See you next weekend for another Super Sunday.
Elizabeth Barnard: Comprehensive away wins in the Premier League, the stuff dreams our made of. Our first double this season! Up the mighty Fulham - I love you.
