I largely agree with you, but don’t underrate 1975 and 2010. I’m one of those still around who was at Wembley in 1975, and although it would have been great to win, it really didn’t matter that much. Just to see Fulham, my team, walk out at Wembley, was enough. I’d never imagined that could happen, and the tears flowed. Same was true in 2010; never thought we’d be in a European final, and this time at least we had a goal to celebrate. Maybe that’s the problem; we’re just too nice and have low expectations. But when I was at Swansea in 1995 to see us relegated to the bottom division for the first time ever I would have taken losing finalist in Europe.

Agree with the expectations part, and that definitely comes from our history. But there has to be a point where those change, right? I started supporting Fulham in 1995, so I've seen the lower leagues (though our trajectory soon changed). But 30 years is a long time in life, not just in football. Everything is different now, so shouldn't our hopes and dreams change with them?

Yeah i believe that if who ever Wants this the most will get it! I live in SA (probably the only supporter here) and so cannot go to the matches but i plead with everyone who goes to make an effort and shout scream and do what it takes so we can bring back home a major trophy.

My hopes and dreams were crystallised when we sold Allan Clarke and bought Frank Large!

Agree about Palace. I fucking hated them winning it. Every man and his dog was buzzing for them but I was seething and felt sick

Amen. I still feel as sick about it now as I did then!

Sadly, I think we're a way off wining one of the major trophies. Defensively we are not strong enough. For me, under Roy Hodson we had no soft under belly and it was no suprise we came close in getting to Hamburg. While I enjoy the Silva journey I just don't think we could do a Palace and prevent a Man City or Arsenal from scoring against us when it mattered. When Palace beat us 3-0 in the FA cup last year they were incredibly well set up and we found it impossible to score against them. Also, Palace at that time were stronger than us in squad terms. I don't feel I'm being negative but I think it's fair to say Silva's team definitely has a soft spot. We've seen it so exposed so many times. I'd love to be proved wrong but I think a semi final in a cup is about our limit at the moment.

The Championship trophy is fairly major!

As much as losing to them broke my heart, I was happy when Palace won the cup, at least it showed that teams can still get the monkey off their back.

This year, we are winning it. This time I really, really, really believe!!

I’m 76years old and have supported Fulham all my life I was at Hamburg for that Final hoping for our first Trophy but as usual it never happened, I don’t think we will end up with a trophy this season either because our defence is just not good enough we can’t even defend corners and our goalkeeper doesn’t help with his bad decisions and distribution.
