I wonder if the "long term" players who had seemed annoyed by AA preferring Palacios no matter what, are being convinced more by Palacios improving, or by players like ESR continuing to not look like they deserve to start a PL game?
ESR looks alternately like he’s stealing a living one week, and that he thinks he’s too good for Fulham the next, and he’s looked like that ever since he arrived. Pure class when at Arsenal, and that’s why he was bought, but lazy, and that’s why he was sold.
A couple things of note here. Joachim needs to be sold in the next window. He's just not good with this system. His precision passing is outstanding, but he and Cuenca are just too slow footed to handle Arbeloa's style of play.
ESR was absolute rubbish throughout the match. His heavy touches, lack of effort and just constant turnovers were brutal to watch.
I liked getting Angel out there, but it's clear he needs to beef up to be a regular.
My eleven under the Arbeloa era are:
Garcia
Palacios King Bobb
Charles Berge
Robinson Bassey Affengruber Castagne
Leno
Bench (in order of next man up value regardless of position):
Harsh on ESR, he didn't do much, but was perfectly tidy, and it shouldn't be left to him to be defending a high ball at the back post. He was certainly better than Kevin, who was simply atrocious. Cuenca was also not great, he has lost his mojo.
Palacios still has to do more when we are out of posession, same charge I've always laid at Iwobi's door. For any midfielder, being a slick attacking operator does not excuse being a non-entity in defense. He also faded badly in the 2nd half, and that miss at the end would have been unforgiveable if it it was 3-3 (as it should have been).
I like the look of Angel. Could be a great replacement for Reed longer term. Larsson ok, good squad player who will get better.
Castagne - good game, but MOTM?! I must have been watching a different game, WH had a fair bit of threat down that side.
No, definitely not, especially for what he cost. Just think the rating was a bit harsh for this game. I'm still hoping for more from him, and we see it in bits n pieces (he has played some delightful one touch football at times, showing skills that few else in the squad possess), but he should be helping to fundametally raise our level, not just coast under it.

*Adding Andersen only because we need 20 to field a roster for a match, otherwise he'd be down below
Transfer Out ASAP:

is that all we can ask from ESR? To be perfectly tidy?

fair enough!
I think Palacios would have been my MOM. Definitely great competition for Iwobi on the left. Bobb already the winner of goal of the month.
