Thought Berge was our MOTM - drove forward for the Raul penalty and controlled Fernandez for most of the match. Best I’ve seen him play in a longtime. Agree George don’t understand the Bassey for Cuenca swap - think he would have taken a second yellow and not allowed Fernandez to cross the ball if he was still on the pitch
If you recall that we were still behind when Bassey came on the move makes some sense as Bassey is more likely to carry the ball forward and create a goal scoring opportunity than Cuenca (notwithstanding the goal Cuenca had revoked by VAR).
Our defending for set pieces and corners is terrible and not one player makes an effort to get the ball away, Robinson once again was awful and needs dropping Sess is far better than him, Cuenca deserved a goal and had another good game, when Bassey comes back it shouldn’t be at the expense of Cuenca it should be Robinson and move Sess forward.
My only concern is that Marco seems unwilling or indifferent at end of game to focusing team on “the one player who can beat you “. Fernandes, Welbeck, and, earlier on, Semenyo are examples. Perhaps less team celebrating would permit him to remind the players.
