It’s infuriating to watch Berge constantly just pass it backwards, almost get excited when he goes laterally which is absolutely bananas. He has all the ability, maybe that’s how he has been tasked to play but for me he plays lots of games like a coward.
Yes, abysmal and Silva must shoulder the blame. Sessegnon on the right, Wilson in the middle and ESR on the left was experimental, maybe borderline eccentric. After 15 dire minutes he should have reverted to the system that put us on a good run and with which they are familiar. Poor Sess should have been on the left, combining with Robinson, with Wilson on the right and ESR behind the striker. The Diop substitution was unfathomable.
The only sentence I have a minor quibble with is Berge's "obvious ball carrying abilities". So rare and surprising when it happens, would question 'obvious' and 'ability'.
Silva was the blame for that pathetic performance and the way he set up the team playing players out of position and a lack of creativity we lacked effort we were too slow and couldn’t put a pass together it was embarrassing.
My main disappointment is that Marco tried to shut up shop with his substitutions. Understandable if we were one nil up but we are not in a relegation battle and this was an opportunity to go for all three points and make a push for Europe. Reminds me of last year, whenever we had a chance to get into those places we blew it. Admittedly not helped by King being woeful when he came on.
