I honestly can’t take much more of this. This season has been full of dreadful decisions going against us from referees and VAR.
It started with Brighton, then Chelsea, and now we’ve had the final straw with two shocking calls today. Josh King was booked for what they called a “dive”, which was absolutely ridiculous, and then came the blatant handball that stopped what would otherwise have been a certain goal.
I feel like I’ve lost the enjoyment of watching Fulham and even football in general. It makes me really sad to admit it, but unfortunately that’s the truth right now.
I’ve been listening to your podcast for over six years and will continue to do so, because I know you feel our pain as fans. I’m not even sure why I’m writing this message, maybe because I feel like you understand how much it hurts.
So yes, come on you Whites, and let’s hope for better times ahead. But for now, I’ll be stepping back from watching football.
It feels awful, doesn't it? Especially for King, who's been excellent so far yet seems to have upset some footballing god. Hopefully that first goal comes soon for him!
However, I think there's still plenty to be positive about, even if it stings right now. We've got 8 points from 6, not outstanding but hardly a crisis, we've made it to the round of 16 in the Cup (with another lower league side in the next game) and there's been some genuinely good football amongst the performances.
We've got players coming back from injuries and a lot more games to go - don't lose hope yet!
We have a new young striker but don't include him in the team. Then we put Traore in instead of a known striker. What are they thinking. Complain about lack of transfers but don't use them when you have them.
I agree - that was head scratching. You only have one healthy starting 9 (Raul) and don’t at least bring your other option and put them on the bench? Even if Marco did not plan to sub our young striker in for Raul, it was conceivable that there might be situations later on in the game when he wanted a tall, more mobile option. I am a big Marco fan and that was a real miss.
Traore was dreadful, he seems to lack some basic footballing nous, despite his age. Sooner we get rid the better, 1 good moment every 5 games is not enough even mid-table ambitions.
Also Kevin looks rubbish. Sorry, but he's actually done nowt.
This is such a well balanced review. I use to read your posts in the Guardian and was delighted when you moved here. I’m pleased you highlighted Traore contribution, he gets a lot of stick and was poor against Cambridge, but I feel his good stuff often gets overlooked.
I really do not understand why everyone keeps praising Lukic and thinking his yellow cards are some.humorous character flaw. He gets yellow cards because: 1) he is frequently on the wrong side of the opposition player; 2) he is too slow to recover; and 3) lacks the intelligence to do anything other than perform a blatant foul to overcorrect, even when it isn't really necessary. It's just poor football from a very average player. I always said we had to upgrade on Andreas if we ever wanted to progress, and Lukic is now the new Andreas. We have to upgrade on him if we want to achieve anything, he is a bang average footballer in a key position.

Marco can be petulant, the young striker was a club signing that came on transfer deadline day. He won’t play him to prove a point.
