I'm a little bemused why the youngster wasn't given a few minutes as he's the only striker in the squad right now but I've never seen him play and I'm also not privy to how he was signed. Still it's confusing why someone comes on loan and takes no part, who benefits? Nobody as far as I can see. So far this season lady luck is certainly not with us and under the circumstances I'm not ready to get on Marco's back, after all Bournemouth are the 1st side to beat us without VAR interventions. It's not doom and gloom just extremely frustrating.

Wow…agree with comments about not giving JKA a whirl and also the comment in the article about Iwobi taking over the 8, as many of us have mentioned for months.

But the rest of the article is twoddle.

Any manager has a team to manage, a bunch of athletes from around the world,

Managing the team is controlling their diverse skills into a single unit of actions commonly called a team.

The team is given a blueprint to follow in general with adaptations each game based on the opposition and injury.

This process takes time one presumes.

Marco’s frustration is surely based on never having had new players before a new season starts, not acquiring players to fill positions that he asks for and so on.

This Kevin and Chuk are still learning as is JKA who has only risen to prominence due to our two strikers being injured simultaneously.

I see your point Douglas and I totally agree, but the article touches on something separate to the point you’re making. It is about Macro sharing control with the team, and not being the only one with control. Thanks for your feedback, it is always appreciated and I fully respect it.

Agree on JKA. Look what’s happening at Newcastle with an “awkward” 6’5” striker. But more generally I think Marco is a genius; but not so much at managing a game. At Bournemouth, one goal up and about 20 minutes to play, Semenyo is Bournemouth’s only chance back into the game. That’s too much to ask of Castagne. Put Bassey — or even Iwobi on him man-to-man. See the game out.

You lost me with your opening. YOU WERE NOT EVEN WATCHING THE GAME! In fact, you give no evidence in your article that you even saw a replay of it. So, unlike our fans who went to Bournemouth and endured a monsoon. Or even Marco, who almost drowned on the sidelines, and whose sweater did, or the fans at home who watched in agony as a nice lead evaporated,

you spent the evening in a nice warm restaurant in London. Hard to take you and your amazing arrogance seriously!

Thanks Ray, I’ve been a Fulham season ticket holder for 22 years. But, this piece wasn’t about the game itself, it is more about management style. I appreciate your feedback and understanding. Next time, I’ll choose not to mention how I received agonising goal notifications whilst eating a home cooked meal after finishing a long day at work (which makes it impossible for me to travel) as a way to set up the piece.

Thanks for your reply. I suspected that your opening was a writerly set-up but it just didn't work for a brutal defeat like last week's. You made some very good points in the piece about Marco's style, Maybe you should have set them up with his stubborn insistence on wearing a sweater throughout the monsoon whereas the opposing and winning manager was appropriately dressed.

Ray, that is certainly a nice contrast to point out. It would be even more appropriate to mention that Marco may have had a waterproof available that rested on the bench behind him. Perhaps the brutality of the defeat hits home better in the actual match report, also available on Fulhamish…

Ive worried about this. ESR is a good example, he seems shackled.

Not playing JKA is very odd indeed, what is to lose when Traore isn't a number 9.

We probably have a better squad than Bournemouth and Palace, so why are their managers getting better results than us? Given the teams we've played, we should have more than 8 points.

I was worried about Marco leaving, im not so sure now.

I could MAYBE understand not playing him (or cautiously playing him) when Raul and Rodrigo are both healthy. But, both of them out and no other striker options, it is idiocy not to put him into the game (especially in the late stages chasing a goal) to see what he could do. Not doing so is more than likely costing us goals (and games).

He is a fool for not playing the youngster. He will never be able to prove himself sitting on the bench. Fulham is suffering.
