If we get anywhere close to 50M for Muniz that is great business. I think we can get a capable backup to Raul for under 10M and then use the proceeds for another winger and a LB.
Something is off with the clubs transfer business, structure - it doesn’t make any sense and seems like it is becoming dysfunctional, if you want Silva to stay, to do moves like this (or not prepare in advance). This and placing the story that the club is purposefully doing nothing (when the manager you want to keep has publicly said the opposite) is just weird as is having your PR team say this when you know that Muniz might go. Has anyone heard why the Club is acting so strange. Is it Tony Khan or AM? I don’t buy that the Khans are planning to sell - the just finished the Riverside (and are super proud of it). My guess is that something is off internally.
Never quite understood the logic in having three starting strikers, so difficult to keep all of them happy when we only play one up top. Better finding a winger who can moonlight as a forward when required in my opinion.
Rodrigo barely made any starts last year. Most of his apps came from the 70th minute onwards. Yes, he scored a few goals but not good enough for a starting striker. Also, if you watched the games he featured he was frequently outnumbered by opposition defences without the ability to take on opponents with speed and skill.
I would happily welcome £40mil for Muniz. I've got nothing against him personally but I think we'd be getting an absolute steal by getting that much for him and reinvesting in a great winger and a starting striker.
Fair point - but also, you only have to look at some of the goals he scored. They're instinctive pieces of brilliance that will surely become more frequent if you give him minutes. The goal against Liverpool at home where he turned Van Dijk was everything you want from a striker. Personally I don't think £40m once you take off the cut to Fluminense gets you all that much. Certainly not two starting players!
Muniz came from Flamengo Sammy, not Fluminense

Keep Muniz and sign another striker are both a must. I have total trust in Silva but he must be supported in his endeavours for the club too.

seems like romulo cardoso is off the table now too...
