It's time. He's got to go. He can't manage a game. I don't know what he think he's trying to do with these substitutions. But he's clearly demonstrated he does not know what he is doing. I hate to be the voice of such negativity, but we can't keep waiting and hoping. I think we have seen enough to know AA just doesn't have the tools yet. I know he's "managed the best club in the world" but none of that is materializing here.
F***ing rubbish (the football, not the article). 5 years of building something solid has been dismantled in one summer. Arbeloa must go, but I don't expect that will necessarily save us, it's probably already too late. Sigh.
Why do we go on defense with a one goal lead instead of attacking. Every time, we just don't learn. Time for a UK Manager that has Premier League experience.
Thanks for the detailed recap for this one unable to catch the full match.
What in the world is Angel doing on a Premiership roster, let alone a pitch? He'd struggle in the Championship.
Arbeloa's inability to learn and adapt sent me to search, "What happened to Arbeloa at Real Madrid?" With the exception of differences with Mbappe and Vinicius, his Fulham experience is a carbon copy. He may be great at managing U21s but he's not so great with professional adults in high-pressure situations. Is he uncomfortable interacting 1-on-1 with older players? Just doesn't seem like he's talking with players to explain his approach to the game and lay out expectations. Been that way from the very start. Smith-Rowe is a visible symptom of the disconnect.
ManU v Tottenham just concluded with ManU looking rather Fulhamish in giving up an added-time goal to hand Tots a tie and mooring Fulham bottom of the table.
Terribly incompetent game management yet again. The strength of the team in the past 4 games through the first substitutions and then a marked drop-off in form. Arbeloa needs to let the team lean into games and regain the front foot after a goal. We cannot continue to sit back and invite the pressure in the last 30 minutes week after week.
Some positive signs controlling games, the opportunities to convert are there, but we need to maintain the strength and finish the game.
It's like he's trying to manage everyone's minutes, rather than managing the game in front of him. And maybe that's him trying to be a "player's manager", but I bet if you ask the players would they rather have a few minutes or a W, they prefer the win.

Our biggest problems are all Spanish
Baz:
Alvaro Arbeloa…
“We must improve.”
“Away games are difficult.”
“We must take our chances.”
“Ipswich are a physical side.”
“Hull is another final.”
We are going down under this bloke.
I’m actually speechless (for once)…
Same old story
