Great article Drew. I would argue ESR needs it more than Palacios. I think Emile didn't even look like he stood a chance of game time on Monday even though Josh was hanging out of his ar$e by the end.
Cheers! Yes totally - I guess it was a similar argument to Kevin in my mind. I know what ESR offers, though not necessarily in an AA XI, whereas I am impatient to see how Palacios fares against lesser opponents. It's a well-timed game, though, whoever we end up seeing.
I don’t think ESR has a part to play under AA. As they said on the Fulhamish pod, if you’re not going to bring a player with his supposed skill set on when we’re chasing a goal and the midfield has run itself ragged for 70 minutes, that says a lot about where he stands in AA’s regard.
I wouldn't argue against any of those 5 playing the full game. Personally, I think the club will try and move Smith-Rowe on. He certainly does not look up to the Arbeloa game plan. It will be difficult to shift him though as he seems emotionally immature to me and will feel lost without his ex Arsenal team mates(Iwobi, Leno)and may dig his heels in. He'll be on a good wedge too so won't easily move on. I also think Kevin is on very shakey ground. After all the hype he has just become a one trick pony with little football intelligence. I wouldn't be suprised to see one or 2 shock departures next Tuesday with Arbeloa informing the Khans which players are not in his long term plans.
I've seen a lot of chatter that Berge is the base of the midfield (some even from other Fulhamish hosts!) with Charles, Iwobi, Reed etc moving in and out around him.
He and Iwobi did have a poor outing vs Chelsea, but he was excellent for Norway this summer so I don't feel like he will be moved - unless Pitarch suddenly becomes available.

Why not Tete in the center right back role with Bassey back to the left?
Er, Luc de Fougerolles surely?
