I wasn't at the Palace game so I can't come to any personal conclusion on whether the boos etc were focused on Iwobi. My feeling is it may be a general feeling of frustration on how things are progressing and indeed being run by the club hierarchy. My own feelings are that the long term problems of having a totally unqualified Director of Football(Tony Khan) is ruining any actual chance of genuine progress(maybe finally winning a cup). There is no doubting their financial commitment but the reality is they would lose a lot less money if the recruitment department was far more functional. Just look at the usual suspects of Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Palace with their 3 cups. These clubs balance their books by finding good players at a good price and then selling them on at a very decent profit. I feel there is a lot of hand wringing around criticising the ownership and the nepotism that is at the centre of our problems. A majority of fans seem unable to criticise the Khans even though it's obvious that the problems stem from their leadership or lack of it. I can only imagine how a Leeds or similar fanbase would react to having a head of recruitment that was purely in the role through nepotism. I genuinely feel sorry for the majority of players and to a small degree, Arbeloa himself. He was given the role by our ownership so if he does indeed fail, the buck for me, stops with the Khan's. I find it frustrating that we go around in circles analysing the players, formations and managerial tactics when the problems stem from those at the top of the tree. As for Iwobi, he has been an excellent servant to the club and I can't imagine booing the fella.
Yes I don't think supporters should ever boo or jeer at their own players regardless of how well or badly they are playing. Every player wants to do his best and stay on the pitch and at the yin particular our current squad are in a learning curve trying to blend together in a different system.
The comments made on social media about players being rubbish etc is itself rubbish as well as being nasty. To get to play in division two you have to be a pretty good footballer, very good in the Championship and exceptional in the Premiership. That's a fact. How often do you find with a change of system or manager a player suddenly starts playing to his full potential and looks like a different player.
Maybe all the so called fans who slag off their own players should be made to play a game at the Cottage and then we could all boo and jeer their every mistake.
Great read Drew , not sure if all the cheers were against Alex , or the recognition that finally the manager had come to the conclusion that he’s not at his most effective in centre midfield and by the time he had moved to his natural position he had run out of gas .
The problem is Alex could now be 3rd or 4th choice on the left hand side of the pitch because of his lack of pace and maybe sees his own place in the side gone after a brilliant spell with us .

Also can we please stop talking about 'tweaks' being the answer to the shambles that is Fulham right now. The scoreline against Chelsea massively flattered us, we were abysmal against Sunderland (that's Sunderland) and we actually deserved to lose against CP - out of form, in a mess, low on confidence, missing a couple of their best players, away from home CP. We need a damn sight more than 'tweaks'!
I know it sounds crazy this soon into a season but I'd quite like Eddie Howe. I think he'd be a good fit for Fulham and would steady the ship. The issue is, he had untrustworthy people to work with at Newcastle and I'm not sure he'd work under the twit that is Tony Khan. Why jump from the frying pan into the fire? Also, apparently he has had health concerns and that must take priority for him. You're spot on regarding those that think tweaks are going to sort things.
Yes, under normal circumstances I think Howe feels like a very good fit for Fulham. Some may say that's a 'boring' choice, but sometimes the so-called boring answer is still the right answer. Also what is so boring about Howe? Relatively successful, very experienced and plays mostly nice football. Not being the PL is far more boring!
It sometimes appears that Iwobi gives the ball away more than most Fulham players. Whether that's a true impression or not, I would suggest that it's because he is attempting a more ambitious or creative pass than some of his other team mates would in the same situation. When they come off it looks great and can create chances, when they don't everybody groans. But at least he is trying and not always taking the safe and easy option (naming no names). Added to that, he always puts in a shift, often topping the stats for running. Like most of us I just don't think the role he is being asked to play makes the most of his undoubted talents. Whatever one thinks of his contributions it can never be right to boo your own players either individually or as a team. That's the job of the opposing fans!
No true fan should jeer off the team. Support you team through thick and thin, we’ve had so much worse through the years it seems people don’t appreciate how well we’ve been doing. New players and a new manager let’s get behind them and give them every encouragement to make it work.
The blame sits with Arbeloa, nobody else. So far as far as I can see he has not used our established players to the best of their abilities. With a high intensity, high energy style players will tire, substituting players is essential to stand any chance of success. Any system requires all players to buy into it, if there is a problem in the dressing room and results are not happening you lose the squad and the support.

As for the backlash against the new manager, change is painful. It often begins with major upheaval, but that is precisely when we need to stick together. The manager is part of the club’s wider project: focus on youth development, sell older players to reduce the wage bill, develop players with high future resale value, and play creative, exciting football.
We are only three games in, and some fans are already in meltdown - calling to sack the manager !. No sensible company chairman or board would sack a new leader at the very start of a major reset. You give them time to make it work. Judge the manger at game 38 not game 3 ! He needs a full one year . No way we go on the manger go around - No way you through out the manager when the boat has just left the port and he is building a team around his new style .
And it is not all bad: four goals in three games—that’s four more than Spurs! We have seen some exceptionally good attacking football and some great signings. Yes, the defence is not working, and part of those problems were inherited part are that the system is too agressive/ front loaded for the players we have / part the manger is learning .But sort that out, and we’ll be on a different level.
