The final match of the season didn’t have much riding on it, but it was another good indication that this side can push the league’s top sides very close. Farrell Monk runs the rule over today’s performances.

Bernd Leno

A busy day for Leno between the sticks that could have been a lot busier as the opposition attackers were guilty of some wayward finishing. Both goals he could do little about, but did everything to be expected of him around that. Solid game to conclude a successful reputation rebuild this season. 7/10

Antonee Robinson

This fella will never stop running at full whack. His driving runs are a constant menace for the right side of any team and today was no different. His crosses are improving, completing the most out of any player on the pitch and was unlucky not to come away with an assist. 7.5/10

Issa Diop

A lot of the talk will be about the protection of the centre-backs rather than the performances of the either of them. Diop did OK with one glaring mistake early in the second half which you could argue was his defensive partner’s fault. Brought the ball out of defence well to break the press and launch several attacks. However, both Diop and Tosin did struggle with forwards dropping deep off of them, which was clearly a game plan by Ten Haag. I feel Ream would have handled this a lot better if he was fit. 6.5/10

Tosin Adarabioyo

Crtl + C & Ctrl + V Diop’s entry mostly. Tosin felt slightly shakier than Diop with a couple of less-than-confident clearances and touches. I also felt less confident watching him back peddling towards goal with a forward bearing down on him which happened a lot. But still a solid game to round off a good season. 6.5/10

Kenny Tete

What a loveable player Kenny Tete is. He smiles and the world smiles with him. No surprises about his recall to the Dutch squad. You could tell how much he was up for the game with an early thunderous foul on Garnacho and his endeavour granted him a reward with a fine headed goal. A lot has been spoken about his defensive abilities in 1v1s, but his quality on the ball and being able to play in tight areas should be spoken about more. A shame it was for naught for this match, but he ends the season with his stock at its peak. 8.5/10 – Player of the Match

João Palhinha

An odd game for Palhinha, there were times where he just couldn’t handle the industry of Fred and compatriot Fernandes. The middle of the park where the game was lost today and it’s sad to write that Joao was one of the reasons. It felt like a passive performance, too often the ball going by him and all sudden Fulham were on the back foot. There were also times I expected better from him on the ball, but the game just passed him by, except for picking up a record 14^th yellow card. Just a blip and I cannot wait to see him back at our Cottage in August. 5/10

Saša Lukić

The Serbian’s quality on the ball in undoubted, some nice one-twos in tight spaces got us going. However, I just don’t think the combination of him, Palhinha and Cairney works and it meant that we lost a lot of mobility in the middle. And boy, did Manchester United expose that. There is more to come from the Serbian but today was not his day to show it. 6/10

Willian

Much like Wilson, I love the way his first touch is always looking to unsettle the defender. Willian caused problems for Dalot in the first half but as the game wore on his impact subsided. His decision making is always spot on, however today the execution on several occasions were lacking. A good performance overall though as per usual. 7/10

Tom Cairney

Not his best game, but certainly not his worst. His footwork at times was sublime, and he used this to great effect to draw a foul for the penalty from “Best Signing Of The Season” Casemiro. I felt he could have used the ball a bit better, but I also felt he was let down by some players around him. And the high press alongside Mitro and Lukic lacked a bit of bite and therefore he struggled to make an impact there. 7/10

Harry Wilson

The confidence returning to Wilson is visible. It has been a long road to get here, mind. Easy to forget that on his initial return there were question marks whether he was good enough for this level. Turned out to be complete rubbish. However, this game was not a showcase of his talent, but there were some minor occasions where he was able to. Harry excellently combined with Lukic and Tete on the right side of midfield and this allowed the latter to expose space on that flank to create decent crossing opportunities. 7/10

Aleksandar Mitrović

Ahhh today could have been so much more for Mitro! It’s a horrible cliché but I think he wanted it too much and therefore overdid it to an extent. Overplayed a fair amount and his passing was a little wayward. He did very well in aerial duels when we did have to go long, but that’s really where the positives end. Maybe he should have taken the penalty with his head. 5/10

Subs

Harrison Reed

(Sub 66 minutes for Lukić)

You could tell when he came on, that he was what Fulham were lacking. Started to stifle their midfield more and help his teammates win it in key areas. There’s a reason why we are disappointed with the lack of international recognition. 6.5/10

Manor Solomon

(Sub 66 minutes for Wilson)

I really do not think right-wing is his game. He tried to drive with it into central areas but it didn’t work but looked more comfortable operating centrally after TC left the field. Had a couple of opportunities to run at defenders but chose not to. Tested De Gea from range but that was as far as it goes. 6/10

Daniel James

(Sub 80 mins for Cairney)

Had a couple of attempts at stretching his legs, but no real openings in the last 10 to do much. Leeds is going to need that £25million option now they are relegated. 6/10

Carlos Vinícius

(Sub 80 mins for Mitrović)

Not a good cameo appearance. Did his best to fluff a very good opening that was saved by De Gea, kind of makes it worse that he was criminally offside looking along the line. 5/10
