Podcast: Homecomings & Hope

1st August 2024

A week ago we were bemoaning a lack of any activity whatsoever, and now the Fulham transfer machine is whirring into business. At the end of last week the Whites announced out of nowhere that Ryan Sessegnon was returning to the place that made him on a free transfer, sparking jubilation and nostalgia in equal measure. And earlier this week, it was made pretty clear that Emile Smith-Rowe will be joining the club in the next few days as well – two players once touted as world beaters, still young and with a point to prove, combining at the Cottage next year.

We break down the ins-and-outs of those two deals, and how we see both players fitting into this Marco Silva side, as well as examining where else the squad needs additions, looking at the latest rumours doing the rounds on potential incomings, and discussing the way that transfers now have to operate in the age of PSR.

There’s also the live draw for our competition which has raised over £650 for the Fulham Foundation, where one lucky listener is the newly proud owner of a shirt signed by the entire Fulham squad!

00:00 – Pre-season begins privately
04:35 – The Boy Wonder comes home
14:44 – Smith-Rowe all but arrived
30:02 – Is the squad now attack-heavy?
38:12 – McTominay and Andre latest
